Whitireia Moodle Joins the 4.1 Club!

We're excited to announce that Whitireia Moodle has also undergone a transformative upgrade to Moodle 4.1! This means you'll experience the same fresh look and exciting new features as our friends at WelTec.

Here are some additional highlights you can look forward to:

Tiles Course Format: This new format replaces the Grid format, offering a more dynamic and visually appealing way to organise your course content.  Try it out today by visiting your Course settings > Course formats > Tiles format.

Login Flexibility: You can now choose to login using either your email address or username, providing greater convenience and accessibility.

Enhanced Timeline Block: Stay on top of upcoming deadlines and important events with the new and improved timeline block.

The new Tile format is a good replacement for the Grid format.

Whitireia and WelTec Moodle Upgrade

We are excited to announce that we will be upgrading our Moodle Learning Management System to version 4.1 on 5 December, 2023, for WelTec and Thursday, 7 December 2023, for Whitireia. 

This upgrade will bring a number of new features and improvements to Moodle, including:

  • A new look and feel that is more responsive and intuitive on any device
  • A redesigned course page and dashboard
  • Simplified navigation
  • New image and video user tours
  • Quiz and assignment activity improvements.

We are confident that these improvements will make Moodle an even more powerful tool for teaching and learning at Whitireia and WelTec.

Please note that Moodle will be unavailable during the upgrade.

System downtime

Moodle will be unavailable during the upgrade process. The following downtime schedule applies:

  • Whitireia Moodle: Thursday 30 November 2023, 9:00 AM – 4.30 PM 
  • WelTec Moodle: Tuesday 5 December 2023, 9:00 AM – 4.30 PM
  • Whitireia Moodle: Thursday 7 December 2023, 9:00 AM – 4.30 PM
