Public Health Notice: Whitireia Performance Centre – Wellington
We have recently received advice from the Greater Wellington Regional Public Health office that a person at the Whitireia Performance Centre has been diagnosed with confirmed meningococcal disease. This person and the people that they live with are receiving treatment.
Please note that other people (students/staff) do not need antibiotics unless there has been very close contact. The bacteria are usually only passed from person to person in very close contact, usually in the same household, such as by kissing. It is the contact with saliva, which is important.
