Procedures around parking on campus
Property Services are responsible for monitoring parking. We remind everyone not to park in designated parking areas including:
-disabled parking areas (without the display of appropriate entitlement)
-areas marked with yellow or blue lines
-emergency-only parking areas
-allocated parking spaces (with signage)
Please note: Initially, Property Services will issue pink warning notices to non-complying vehicles. The warning notices request that you refrain from parking in restricted parking areas. Repeat infringements will result in the vehicle being towed.
Exceptions: If a vehicle is causing a major obstruction it will be towed away without warning.
Porirua City Council and Megacentre parking area rules should be complied with. To comply, do not park on grass verges and do not park in the Megacentre parking area unless you are actually shopping there. Vehicles parked for more than 2 hours at the Megacentre run the risk of being towed.
Towing
Whitireia uses the services of Porirua City Towing, 9 Broken Hill Road, Elsdon, telephone 237 6699. Any towed vehicles will be recoverable from Porirua City Towing at the owners’ expense.
