Yesterday we had a Fire evacuation at our Dixon St Campus. There was a minor electrical fire in the first floor switchboard room where there was an overheating problem with a connector to one of the lighting circuits. The building alarm system sounded and the brigade arrived promptly, and there was minor damage sustained within the 1st Floor switchboard. On a positive note, it’s been reported that the building fire evacuation of all our staff and students ran very smoothly.
Level 2 is cleared for use for our staff and students.
Update: Wednesday 28 August 2.30 pm
The first floor switchboard is being fixed tomorrow morning, which means that Level 1 will remain closed tomorrow (Thursday) but will be ready for use again on Friday 30 August
