We have a winner to our Who RU student survey which ran online recently.
Alisa Tatupu, a Whitireia social work student has won herself a brand new iPad mini just for telling us a little bit about herself.
Alisa is currently studying on the second year of the degree. She knew from a young age that she wanted to come to Whitireia and study social work. She first looked into it when she was 17, being told she needed a bit of life experience before beginning on the programme she went off and worked for five years before enrolling.
A year on from starting the social work programme, Alisa is finding the support at Whitireia ‘beautiful’, she has utilised student resources such as Pacific Liaison, Poutama Academic Learning Centre and the Student Hub. She loves the hands on approach to learning that Whitireia offers.
Our excited winner; who did not own a smart device before winning, is already working out what she can do with and on her new iPad mini; she has done her research into the apps are available that suit her interests. The first app she is going to download is Pinterest. It’s bound to become a good study companion for her too!
