Health and Safety staff are pleased to announce that, in conjunction with Aukati KaiPaipa, we are offering a quit smoking training programme to support staff and students who want to stop smoking. A support person, Tina Wallace, will be on site at the Wineera Drive, Porirua campus on Wednesday afternoons and she welcomes enquiries from anyone wanting advice on this programme.
There is no obligation. The service is completely free and confidential. The process of quitting smoking need not be immediate; it can be something that you work towards over time. This comprehensive support programme is timelined for 12 months, with the first 3 months consisting of weekly meetings and meetings thereafter monthly.
Support provided can be face to face or over the telephone. Although Tina will be on site at Porirua Campus, she can also see you offsite in the local office located in Pember House, Porirua. Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) patches, lozenges and chewing gum are offered free of charge.
To schedule an appointment, please phone Tina on 237 0066.
You are also very welcome to see Tracy Mitchell, our Health Nurse for support.
